SCHÖNOX opens Customer Technology Center in Germany

About one year after the groundbreaking-ceremony SCHÖNOX opened the new customer technology center in Rosendahl, Germany. The new building mirrors the company’s and Sika’s drive for innovation, it’s a future-oriented step for Sika AG. SCHÖNOX GmbH continues taking over important tasks in the areas Research, Depvelopment, Technical Service and Customer Dialogue.  

The walls are plastered and the floor coverings are ready, furniture has been put to the laboratories and the offices. Approximately two years after the announcement of 6-million-investment plans SCHÖNOX’ ambitious construction project has been finalized. Managing Director Dipl.-Ing. Joachim Straub inaugurated the new technology center on September 1, 2016 in the presence of the mayor, customers and employees.The building has been finalized in less than 14 months. A surface of almost 3,000 m² offers enough room for new ideas and solutions. The center is the result of “the efforts and reliability of the employees”, stresses Joachim Straub. The staff’s “excellent performance convinced me that taking the courage to invest was the right decision.”  

Members of the corporate management, Paul Schuler, Head Region EMEA, Thomas Hasler, Chief Technology Officer and Jan Jenisch, CEO Sika AG, also attended the opening.  

Foundation for modern customer dialogue
Sika Deutschland GmbH has nearly quadrupled its turnover within the last 12 years. Rosendahl is the new center of excellence with Group-wide responsibility for the development of installation products. In recent years SCHÖNOX continued giving new impulses by launching innovations as SCHÖNOX iFLOOR, SCHÖNOX iFIX or SCHÖNOX aDECO into the market. Furthermore the responsibility for developing new formulations and technologies for the target market “Interior Finishing” within Sika worldwide is located in Rosendahl. Local and regional technology centers within the Sika Group are also supported.  

In addition, a new local center of excellence for specialty mortars has been established. This will focus on grouts and concrete repair mortars for application in bridge-building and the construction of wind farms, for example.

The Swiss mother Sika honoured the SCHÖNOX brand promise with investments totaling around € 6.0 million in Rosendahl. It’s an investment not only in brick and mortar but in generating knowledge und creating conditions for a sustainable future.  

Next to new laboratories and offices of the R&D department the expanded site also contains an industrial building for applications engineering and seminar rooms for customer product and application training. The seminar rooms are equipped with state-of-the art technology to demonstrate our products and systems also to larger groups. 

In addition to the seminar center in Rosendahl the brand shows its customer focus in its seminar centers in Hamburg, Salzburg (Austria) and Alblasserdam (the Netherlands). The goal continues to be offering the best solutions and services to customers to make the working life better every day.
